As a Director of Diagnostics at Global Health Labs (GH Labs), Damian Madan oversees work to develop novel diagnostic concepts and prototypes that are effective, appropriate, and affordable for healthcare providers in low- and middle-income countries.
Previously, Damian was a Principal Investigator, and before that, Research Scientist at Global Good, an investment fund of Intellectual Ventures, where efforts led by him and his team resulted in two commercialized products, one granted and five pending patents, and two functional group spin outs, among other achievements.
Early in his career, Damian led several product development efforts at Echelon Biosciences. He also held adjunct faculty positions at Westminster College and Salt Lake Community College.
Damian earned his PhD and MA in Molecular Biology from Princeton University and dual BA in Biology and Philosophy from Willamette University. He completed post-doctoral studies in the Department of Molecular Genetics at the University of British Columbia.
