As Principal Research Engineer at Global Health Labs (GH Labs), Liming Hu leads our machine learning approach to healthy technology innovation. In this role, Liming serves as the Technology Lead for the Automated Visual Evaluation (AVE) of cervical precancerous lesions project, driving its evolution from an early-stage data initiative to proof-of-concept and now a multi-year cross-organizational product development project.
Prior to GH Labs, Liming worked at Global Good, an investment fund of Intellectual Ventures, contributing significantly to the development of the Autoscope technology, among other applied machine learning projects. Altogether, Liming has more than 20 years of experience in machine learning, image processing, algorithm design, and product development from his work for a range of organizations, including Microsoft, Alcatel-Lucent, GMO Globalsign, and Newton Research Labs.
Liming earned his PhD in Computer Science and MS in Statistics from Utah State University, and his MEng and BS in computer science from Nankai University in China.
