Many people in developing countries suffer from readily preventable or treatable diseases. Developing technologies that target these diseases and environments requires unique considerations in hardware and process design. This presentation will discuss some of these considerations while giving examples of outcomes and lessons learned from a variety of microscopy and optics-related projects.
